Undergraduate Students Programs for Intelligent Agriculture

Intelligent Agriculture in Shanghai Jiao Tong University aims to meet the strategic needs of promoting high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas in major industries such as national health, food security, and artificial intelligence, and face the development of modern urban agriculture, based on the professional foundation.

 

[Training objectives] This major aims to cultivate a group of high-level composite talents who love agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, master the basic theories and interdisciplinary knowledge of modern agricultural planting and breeding, and can organically integrate advanced agricultural technology and modern management knowledge with large-scale, intensive, and commercialized production and farm management. It integrates intelligent means into modern agricultural production practice and management, and takes root in the forefront of modern agricultural technology, industrial innovation, and intensification related fields, with the determination to serve rural revitalization.

 

[Course Settings] The major curriculum system consists of four categories of courses: general education courses, professional education courses, practical education courses, and personalized education courses. The total credits are about 169.

 

[Employment direction] Graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities and strong job selection abilities. Graduates can engage in research, development, and management in areas such as Agricultural big data analysis, design and implementation of agricultural IoT systems, agricultural remote sensing monitoring and application, intelligent agriculture production system, smart breeding, bioinformatics, and related fields.

 

[Enrollment scale] This major enrolls 20-30 students annually, with a total of approximately 100 students enrolled in four years.
